This year ICFF will see Modus exhibiting a concise and highly refined collection that is united by purity of form and beautifully crafted detail. An elegant new sofa system by Christophe Pillet and a softly structured modular sofa by Michael Sodeau are complemented by Simon Pengelly’s multi purpose lounge chair and a versatile set of tables from the fruitful collaboration that is Sir Kenneth Grange and SmithMatthias.

South by Christophe Pillet

South is a new sofa system by Christophe Pillet. Refined simplicity defines the starting point of this sofa system, a streamlined, light and elegant basic form. The sofa sits on a simple and delicate frame and appears almost to float above the floor. Soft feather scatter cushions in various shapes and sizes add to South’s enticing comfort and gentle, domestic aesthetic. Crafted from a ply frame with foam cushions, an extruded aluminium frame and cast aluminium legs in a choice of powder coated or polished aluminium finish, South strikes the perfect balance between refined grace and sensual comfort.

Milo by Simon Pengelly

The Milo chair by Simon Pengelly has a dual personality; a clear, structured form with sharp, clean lines in one guise and a softer, much more relaxed, unstructured identity. A padded, removable cover with gathered detailing and contrasting zip transforms Milo from a precise, tight, moulded foam chair into a cosier, more domestic piece. With solid oak legs or a powder coated swivel base, Milo comes with or without arms in both the structured and soft version offering the perfect combination for every role.

Pac by Michael Sodeau

Pac is a new modular sofa system by Michael Sodeau that matches dependable comfort with delicately wrapped upholstery. An invitingly comfy, robust and squarish form is tempered by a gently folded fabric detail that the soft tailoring of a favourite, unstructured jacket or a neatly wrapped present. Constructed from a ply frame with foam cushions and softly folded fabric, Pac has a liberating and unstructured code that appeals for relaxation.

Spring by Sir Kenneth Grange and SmithMatthias

The Spring table is characterised by clarity of form brought about by its honest simplicity and extremely economical use of materials. The leg top detail is carried forward from an earlier collaboration between Sir Kenneth Grange and Smith Matthias (the March chair) and the robust metal bracket is candidly visible, rather than being hidden away. Now available in a range of shapes and sizes including nesting versions and soft cornered squares and triangles, Spring comes in solid oak with powder coated steel brackets.
