This February, the Design Museum played host to the first PechaKucha of 2012. The Terence Conran retrospective exhibition was the perfect backdrop to the British design-themed event, which took place on 28 February.
Following on from our successful participation in the Martin Creed event at Sketch, Modus continued to collaborate in the art world this month. Select pieces of furniture, including the Part sofa and armchair by PearsonLloyd and the Fold Table by Patrick Norguet, recently featured in the Bigger Picture exhibition.
Due to the overwhelming success of the PLC collection by British design duo PearsonLloyd, Modus has extended the range to include a brand new stacking version of the timber chair. Combining traditional joinery, CNC machining and ply pressing, the chair is available in solid oak or painted beech; with optional upholstery and an ABS stacking pan on the upholstered version. The chair stacks four high and sits comfortably in both classic and contemporary interiors. A design classic in the making!
Having taken guardianship of the Pecha Kucha debating format for London, Modus are pleased to announce the first event for 2012. The Design Museum, currently exhibiting a Terence Conran retrospective, plays host to the first London Pecha Kucha of 2012.
Until the end of March, we’re giving you the opportunity to win a PLC lounge chair. Just Like Modus on Facebook and be in with the chance of owning this beautiful, PearsonLloyd-designed chair. The PLC chair is composed of solid oak or beech with a plywood seat. It has an optional upholstered seat and backrest too. It’s a contemporary classic that would sit perfectly in any home, so log on and Like! www.facebook.com/modusfurniture[http://www.facebook.com/modusfurniture]
Modus is delighted to be involved in an exhibition by Turner Prize-winning artist Martin Creed at Sketch. This is the first in a new programme, which will transform the legendary London restaurant into a conceptual artwork as well as a place to dine and host live events.
This year we enjoyed great success at the first UK designjunction exhibition in Holborn. Modus collaborated with The Wright Brothers to bring to life designjunction’s very own pop-up champagne and oyster bar.
